2.6 test 6

has anybody used the 2.6 kernel test 6?
ive heard much about it...like r/w to ntfs plus a whole lot of samba issues fixed
if anyones played with it and would like to share something here...
ill be thankful,

yes, NTFS was experimental...but from what ive heard...they changed it from experimental to (new) in the new release

Just a me-too post. I've been using 2.6 since test-2. Have had problems off and on but nothing a quick search on google couldn't fix. has a nice list of things that need change when going from 2.4 to 2.6

That said, if you're faint of heart, wait for your distro to officially support 2.6.

Finally, NTFS write support has been in the 2.4 kernels for a loooong time. It's just disabled by default becuase it's prone to breakage (like Faraz.Fazil said). You can enable it, but I wouldn't recommend it. NTFS read-only support is perfect.
