problem in installing RHEL 5 on my new laptop

salam,

i purchaed a new dell core 2 duo machine and when i try to install RHEL 5 on it only install in text mode i want to install it in GUI mode but it does not work although i select GUI but i did not accept it and automatically goes to text mode i install it on my desktop machine with the same cd in GUI and it installs well whats the problem with my laptop plz help soon :( :(

what is your system's video chipset? typing "lspci" might help you figure that out.

its mobile intel 965 chipset. kindly provide me some solution its a latest dell laptop

assuming you have a proper license for rhel5, you can try updating your packages and then running

system-config-display –reconfig

or, you could install the drivers from here.
