AOA,
I am using windows Server 2003 as Domian controler & Microsoft Exchange Server as an email Server for a large network more then 400 users. for the clients, its very expensive to purchase 400 licenses for WindowsXP+Office+Antivirus & Other softwares (U ppl know that, Microsoft to Phonk marny k bhi Paisay manta hay).
Now I want to migrate my users to ubuntu or fedora-9 (fedora recommended) {I cant migrate my server's operating system & email server. } So, what steps I do for join my linux clients to Active Directory Controler & get emails from exchange server.
Thanks..
How to join Active Directory under linux
AOA,
I would suggest FDC (Fedora Directory Server), and for your help kashif bhai has made a very useful guide also...

I think its not that difficult to configure as compared to managing it. But i think you will manage it.
You can also setup QMAIL or POSTFIX or SENDMAIL as your internal or external mail server.
I hope you will figure it out. If not feel free to post here again

Linux join AD Domain
For your 1st query i.e Ubuntu or Fedora join AD Domain, try "likewise-open"
http://www.likewisesoftware.com/products/likewise_open/
I successfully tested and joined more than 50 Ubuntu users to AD 2003 Domain and found no major problem. However be sure that your DNS Server should be configured correctly otherwise you may encounter problems.
On ubuntu, issue the following command as "root: or alternatively "sudo"
For your 2nd query of Exchange migration, Im not experienced in mail server migration.
