what are you trying to do? keep users from connecting their own devices to their computer's usb ports? why do you want to do this? is it for policy reasons?
Watch out for the Manners Taliban!
Isn't it amazing how so many people can type "linuxpakistan.net" into their browsers but not "google.com"?

Dear Saad,
The workstations are protected but for our GMs they manage to plug in USBs, which causes viruses. So I would like to have some kind of software which installed in USB and make it password protected.
So when ever, They plug in USB it will ask the password and that will make it secure.

Dear adilkhan_86,
Salam,
Best Regards.
Salam,
If you are talking about Micro$oft Windows then you need to find Kingston U3 DataTraveler. As they have software which will allow password protection on USB.adilkhan_86 wrote:The workstations are protected but for our GMs they manage to plug in USBs, which causes viruses. So I would like to have some kind of software which installed in USB and make it password protected.

Hello Guys,
I would recommend to use Panda USB Vaccine,
uses simple techniques creating attribute autorun.inf, disabling autorun for others devices etc , you can do it manually though
but its great to have it as a software
Best part its free and shareware not like free to download from some fileshare

I haven't tried it but it should work.
Make a password protected group for usb users. add allowed users to them. change the permissions on /dev/usb* (whatever the naming convention you have)
OR
apply same thing but with a user, hence every time users have to switch to allowed users in order to access usb devices and for it they must know the password of above user.
