AoA,

I'm new member here....just registered this morning. Lemme introduce myself first.

>>>I'm very much interested in things related to computers specially new technologies...to be more focused networking and security
After this quick intro, I would like to tell u that I dont have any experience of using linux (althrough I've seen it many times). But I'm not new in computers (I'm using mine since 1996).

Which ver. of windows is suitable for me :?:
Any basic points I should know during 1st time installation of linux :?:

and thanks in advance...

as you are a beginner i would like to tell u a few points which will make ur experience with linux and linuxpakistan more enjoyable. firstly ifu have any problems, google the web and also search the linuxpakistan forums for your question. someone may have already answered that. also take care that you are posting ur question in the right section. installation issues go in the installation thread and likewise... i hope u find this informaiton useful. try these links too if u r using redhat

http://www.redhat.com(has very good installation and administration relation information)

http://www.tldp.org(the linux documentation project; colection of linux howtos)

http://www.google.com/linux(google search specific to linux)
and
http://www.linuxpakistan.net( the answer to your linux woes and queries in pakistan)

best wishes
