rpm package
if you install in WORKSTATION mode then its no problem for you.
you will see only 3 options i think. gnome ,kde and games (may be software developement).
and if you will choose custom install mode then you have to select xwindows , gnome , kde blah blah.
but in both modes it will install all necessary packages automatically of gnome or kde.
so dont need to choose specific packages .
when you will open your /RedHat/RPMS/ directory of cds of redhat or view its contents in command mode you can see all the packages. and there will be not difficulty in recognizing packages.
you can also use a tool "GNORPM" which is installed by default in gnome to install rpms remove rpms or even getting information about them.
for example you have not choose GNOME and have installed redhat then still not need a reinstall you can install them any time from your redhat CD.
through command "rpm -ivh --nodeps *gnome*.rpm"
read "man rpm" about it.
