no more linuxconf?

why there is no more linuxconf in redhat linux ? :shock:
but i think that it was a old tool and had good reputation.
and in which distribution it is still used or had to be used?

Yup, it's gone from 7.3. They've replaced it with their own tools. 8.0 has a whole bunch of new replacement tools. I doubt it'll be really difficult to get it to get linuxconf to work on any distro, though. I use webmin on Redhat myself.

me too using webmin on redhat 7.3 :D

beside that i tried redhat's other tools too, they are nice too !

hehe so you have even installed RH8:>
I won`t bother to install newer version unless complete and final version is released in karachi, aah maybe i dont try that i love my 5GB partition and i bet rh8 will ask more and more space now

actually i was talking about redhat 7.3 , i think linuxconf is also not available in 7.2 and may be 7.1.

linuxconf is avalible in linux 7.1 and 7.2 but by default it is not installed , so you have to install it by RPM yourself

I always used to be a great fan of Red Hat Linux. But since the release of RH 8.0 which I feel is a bit buggy and due to lack of mp3 support and the no linuxconf (Not all users use graphical enviornement for the system management). Now I have shifted to Mandrake Linux and found it quite kool.

In mine experience all versions of redhat have a lot of bugs in its installation program.
I never got any error in mandrake or slackware installation.
but redhat :?
