Mounting Windows Partition in Linux:
1 - Make sure support is in kernel (most likely)
2 - Figure out partition for windows (we will assume /dev/hda1).
3 - Create a friendly directory to mount windows contents to
'#: mkdir /mnt/windows'
4 - Mount the windows partition under Linux
'#: mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows'
5 - Access all windows files like any other directory, hence treat
the path /mnt/windows as if it is C:\

There are three parts to the above mount command - 'mount -t TYPE_OF_FILESYSTEM (Microsoft - vfat) DEVICE (Source - /dev/hda1) MOUNT_PATH (Destination - /mnt/windows)'.
If you want to think about it in that terms.

Mounting Linux Partitions in Windows:
1 - Check out software by Paragon (Commerical)
http://www.ext2fs.com/ (for ext2 & ext3)
2 - Explore2fs (GPL Software)
http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm (for ext2 only)
3 - FSDEXT2 (Read-Only) (GPL Software)
http://www.yipton.demon.co.uk/content.html (ext2/win95/ - rather old)
http://linux-sxs.org/utilities/lindos.html (Howto)
4 - Search http://www.google.com

For accessing Windows Partitions in Linux, You have to mount them.
It has already been explained , before, in a plethora of threads here at the forum.

A simple search shows:

http://www.linuxpakistan.net/forum2x/vi ... ight=mount
http://www.linuxpakistan.net/forum2x/vi ... ight=mount
http://www.linuxpakistan.net/forum2x/vi ... ight=mount
http://www.linuxpakistan.net/forum2x/vi ... ight=mount

and many more...

Make a habbit to search the forum before you ask a question.

Now for accessing linux partitions in windows, you cannot do that directly in Windows Xp.You need to use a 3rd party tool like Partition Magic 8 for Windows...which lets you view linux partitions in windows...and also lets you copy files to and from there. There are other 3rd party tools available for this as well..like those by paragon.Partition Magic 8, which is basically a partitioning tool is the best.
