how to make a active directory like domain in linux

ok the subject makes it very clear.

i want to remove active directory from my network. but at the same time i dont want to remove the windows clients on my network.

and more i dont wan to create new users and passwords.

infact i want to migrate from MS windows domain to a linux domain with out disturbing any client side settings or the user permissions.

plz advise me on this.

You can do it with the help of Samba.u've to configure Samba as PDC.
