I WANT TO CONFIGURE WINE SERVER IN REDHAT LINUX 9.0 BUT I CANT UNDERSTAND THAT HOW CAN I START CONFIGURATION MEAN I JUST KNOW THE CONCEPT NOTHING ELSE SO PLEASE I WANT CINFIGURATION HELP ME

You downloaded latest wine package from their site, after unpacking them how did u run that & what error are u getting ?

Pls do provide the complete information or error report here, then I hope someone would be able to you, InshAllah. or try to post your configuartion file here.

Downlaod the latest relese first from WINE''s Site then open it
please download the Tar.gz or tar.bz2 so u can install it very easily now try the read of the INSTALL file in the pakage it will guide iu all

Aslamwalaekum i am install wine in to the Offical cd of Mandrake 9.2 it is install many things in /usr/lib/wine and usr/bin/wine but when i am click in to the wine or wine.bin it is not running i want to know detail proses about how am I do.

vague reply..i may say...be descriptive and helpful.

Shah jahan, firstly never ever post in capitals. this is considered shouting.

As far as your wine problem is concerned, type winelauncher at the console and see what it says. If wine is configured properly, then right click an application that you wish to run with wine and then click on choose application and then select winelauncher from the menu. Hopefully that will help.

Remember only saying that wine doesnt work wont help us understand your problem. Its always nice to be descriptive about your problem.

Hey Donot use wine if it getting problems then use a new thing Crossover Office it is similair to wine but wine does not run the things like MS Office and some windows built-in or that things that Ms windows things it will run it

I m Telling u how to configure the WIne server in Redhat 9
First Downlaod the Wine Server tar.gz beacuse Compiling it is the easy way and if u downlaod the rpm then u can not find the help as u are newbie Downlad the tar.gz or bz2 then follow the flowwing
extract it in folder where u have the permision usually in /home/(ur user)
than go in to it
cd Wine-xxx
./configure
make
make install
then it will make the all then only type wine at the terminal
then copy any file to ur home *.exe and type wine xxx.exe
it will run it
