Hi friends .
I have a problem with my Lan card.
I have assinged an ip to my lan card,its pinging to own ip but doesnt pinging to other ip on my network.
and says host is unreachable . what to do with this?
please help

check if you have firewall enabled. if you installed redhat with default options then it disables any icmp requests. disable your firewall first. you can do it in many ways. on cosole type lokkit and set it to no firewall or simply
iptables -F to flush all your rules and to be sure
iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT
iptables -P OUTPUT ACCEPT
then see if pinging works or not. BTW the ip you are trying to ping, is it on the same network or not??
