thanks lambda, the problem here is very simple: you don't understand netmasks. 255.255.255.0 is not some magical text you add to each ip. your two ip acls apply to the whole 192.168.100 network, not to the two individual ips. change 192.168.100.126 / 255.255.255.0 192.168.100.146 / 255.255.255.0 to ...

regarding hard drive clonning

Hi, I think your bs value made some differnece. Any way, my hard disk size is 150Gb, i have also come to know that dd clones the data bit by bit. i mean it reads the each sector, this is the reason it takes long time. i could complete it within 1 hour and 20 minutes :oops: Regards, on an 866mhz pent...

dd command can also be used for clonning

Hello All,

I tried dd command. It can also be used for cloning the hard drive.

http://www.desinc.net/clone_hard_drive_free

It is taking too much time, i also tried the bs switch with it, but no great success. Any idea on how to minimize the time or speed of making clone.

after search, i found pnp nagios plugin, this can enable nagios to generate graphs also. thanks

I am a system admin, i run multiple server and all have same iptables rules. iptables defined for different ip's owned by my company users, i want to make one central server which should work as a "Centralized firewall Server". Any idea on how this can be implemented?

As i told you i have two ip's, one ip of karachi users and second ip of lahore so i want when ever lahore users click on my domain should go to lahore ip and karachi users when click should go to karachi ip. it is just 2 different ip's. Further i can see on net that may be iptables can also do this ...
