Agere Lucent Modem on Dial Up
I have an Agere Lucent Win Modem 1648c. How to configure a dial up using this device? I am using Fedora Core 7. Also, where can I download the drivers?
You have two options:
1. Download the latest proprietry drivers version 8.31 from this site:
http://www.heby.de/ltmodem
OR
2. Install the Alpha drivers from this site:
http://martian.barrelsoutofbond.org/index.html
Its same as posted by Rishi.
The real work is ahead. You should have compiled a kernel and running that compiled kernel and your newly built modules for your modem will only work with that kernel version.
I had success with 8.31 version drivers on Gentoo 2006.1. And i followed and updated this wiki page ( http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Setup_a_Dialup_Connection ), have a look at it, it will give you an idea. Although i doubt that you would not have known this before, but i did'nt!
