AOA,
Dear hamidabrar,
Just follow the steps below and all your problems will be solved.
Dear hamidabrar,
Just follow the steps below and all your problems will be solved.
Do let me know if you were able to correctly follow all the steps.
1. Insert RedHat ENterprise 4 CD-1 into your CD-ROM.
2. No type "linux rescue".
3. Now chroot /mnt/sysimage
4. fdisk -l
5. Point out the /dev/ of your root partition. (mine is /dev/hda5)
6. Then execute this command very carefully "dd if=/dev/hda5 of=/linux.lnx bs=512 count=1"
In the above command change "/dev/hda5" with your main root partition.
7. Now create a dir "mkdir /win".
8. Now mount any FAT32 partition to this dir " mount /dev/hda1 /win"
In the above command replace "/dev/hda1" with your FAT32 partition.
9. Now execute this command "cp /linux.lnx /win"
10. Now reboot your PC in Windows XP.
11. First check in which partition the linux.lnx file is present
12. Goto Start then RUN, then type c:boot.ini
13. Now goto the last line and then type
C:\linux.lnx="RedHat Enterprise Linux 4"
In the above Path change "C:\" with the Drive in which linux.lnx file is present.
14. Save and Exit the file c:boot.ini
15. Reboot and if you have done everything correctly, then you should have two options on Boot Loader.
Kind Regards
