Post by Abdul Wajid »

Dear all,
Assalam Alaikum

I'm using squiGuard to block porn but when I update the black list or modify it then my squidGuard.log shows me following error in BOLD and squidGuard stops working...

20:24:03 [409] init domainlist /usr/local/squidGuard/db/porn/domains
20:24:03 [409] domainlist empty, removed from memory
20:24:03 [409] init urllist /usr/local/squidGuard/db/porn/urls
20:24:03 [409] urllist empty, removed from memory
20:24:03 [409] init expressionlist /usr/local/squidGuard/db/porn/expressions
20:24:03 [409] squidGuard 1.2.0 started (1171380242.541)
20:24:03 [409] squidGuard ready for requests (1171380243.314)

Kindly suggest me what is wrong...???

what's in the files? are the files (and directories leading up to them) readable/reachable by the squid user? is this your first time running squidguard? if not, what changed?

Dear Abdul Wajid,
Salam,

I believe you must need to add some sites which he wants to allow/block

Best Regards.

Dear lambda " files contain bad domains and urls and squid is readable and reachable, I'm not using squidGuard for the first time but when I update the black list manually or from other websites then squidGuard stops working and show me the said error. "

Dear kbukhari " I'll try your suggestion then reply you "

Dear LinuxFreaK " I'm using the default squidGuard black list which contains plenty of domain entries "

Thanks all of you!!!
