need some virus

I have ClamAV running and would like to test it with some real viruses before putting it into production. Any one know where I can get some?

Have you tried the eicar file? All antiviruses should detect that as a virus.

I've tested with some real viruses that we saved up for this and also with test files like the eicar. However the number of viruses was very small. [/quote]

you have to be logged in as root to do any damage to your system from a virus.....
on the other hand, in *user* accounts, viruses can't do much to linux.

thats why some gurus say there is no need to install anti virus on linux.

Hey i think ashar is talking about antivirus on gateway running linux , not on linux desktop machine.
