great work
salam,
thats a great work. but alas, i just downloaded the two cd's myself. is there anything special in this relaese, or just the 2/3 cds avaiable on the net?
also, i have abother idea for the promotion of linuz in pakistan. as a lot of you already know that there exists certain linux distros that can be run directly from cd's, i am downloading two named DemoLinux, and VirtualLinux myself.
if we can get cd of this kinda distro made and placed just like the mandrake one, many novice computer users will be able to try and see for themselves the benifits of linux. here is a list of such distros:

what do you people say?

Salaam!
Depends, if that works for you then great! IMHO it is better to have more available on CD just in case
Thanks for suggestion we have received originals [ Demo Linux ] from INRIA and are in process of deciding which one to choose first Demo Linux or Knoppix 3.1. Any comments ?
Do you have VirtualLinux ? Any comments ?
Thanks for your input.

Here's what I did for the transition from Redhat 8 to MDK 9:
- 1. Backed up /etc, /home,/usr/local,/var (only important parts of it) on a CD.
2. Installed MDK from scratch. During install, I formatted the root partition, keeping the /home partition intact (barey loag recommend keeping all the filesystems on seperate partitions. Being lazy, I only have seperate partitions for swap, /boot, /home, and /.
3. Restored stuff from the CD as I needed it. I started out by setting up Postfix and PostgreSQL. PostgreSQL worked out of the box from the restore. Had to change 1 line in main.cf for Postfix due to the difference in the binary directories between Redhat and Mandrake.
